Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn, adopt, and apply AI technologies responsibly to solve complex business and engineering challenges.</p><p></p><p>This position is located in <b>Richmond, VA</b> and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in office and the option to work from home on Friday.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Responsibilities </u></b></p><ul><li>Responsible for architecture, project ownership, and team leadership.</li><li>Lead team(s) of talented software developers in building applications and platforms using modern object oriented programming languages.</li><li>Act as a player-coach, who can mentor &amp; coach highly productive team members.</li><li>Promote can-do attitude, engineering mindset and collaboration as fundamental team values.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence.</li><li>Champion the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices to improve developer productivity, code quality, platform reliability, and operational efficiency.</li><li>Leverage AI-powered monitoring, anomaly detection, replayability, and observability capabilities to improve system resiliency, incident response, root cause analysis, and customer experience.</li><li>Partner with engineering and product teams to identify opportunities for intelligent processes that reduce manual effort, accelerate sales workflows, and improve operational effectiveness across CoStar platforms.</li><li>Lead a team in designing, implementing, and governing AI-powered solutions including skills, agents, tools, and workflow automations that enhance both internal productivity and customer-facing products.</li><li>Promote responsible AI adoption by ensuring solutions adhere to security, privacy, governance, and quality standards.</li><li>Manage and coordinate projects within teams and across departments.</li><li>Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strength CoStar\u2019s technology platform and develop practices\u00a0</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Basic Qualifications</u></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor\u2019s degree\u00a0from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college</li><li>Track record of commitment to prior employers</li><li>5&#43; years\u2019 experience in web development and database technologies\u00a0</li><li>3&#43; years\u2019 experience building large distributed, API-driven systems\u00a0</li><li>Strong understanding of OOP and software design patterns\u00a0</li><li>Experience using TypeScript, C#, SQL Server, AWS technologies, or similar tools</li><li>Experience leading a technical team, working through complex\u00a0requirements\u00a0and offering relevant, timely technical solutions.</li><li>Understanding AI technologies and has hands on experience in AI adoption and development.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers and senior management)</li><li>Ability to motivate and build high performance software development teams.</li><li>Familiarity with modern AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), agent orchestration frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools.</li><li>Understanding of observability, monitoring, replayability, telemetry analysis, and automated incident detection platforms.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Preferred Qualifications</u></b></p><ul><li>Experience with Docker and container orchestration a plus.</li><li>Experience\u00a0building\u00a0AI\u00a0features\u00a0with\u00a0Bedrock\u00a0or\u00a0Azure</li><li>Experience\u00a0with\u00a0OpenSearch\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0plus</li><li>Experience\u00a0with\u00a0React\u00a0for\u00a0frontend\u00a0development\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0plus</li><li>Other technology areas we lean into; AWS\u00a0S3,\u00a0Lambda,\u00a0SQS,\u00a0Kafka,\u00a0and Redis</li><li>Experience developing or managing AI-powered applications, agents, tools, search experiences, or intelligent automation platforms.</li><li>Experience leveraging AI to improve software engineering productivity, operational monitoring, research workflows, and data stewardship.</li><li>Experience implementing AI-assisted data quality solutions including deduplication, enrichment, classification, anomaly detection, and entity matching.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>What\u2019s in it for you?</u></b>\u00a0\u00a0</p><p>When you join CoStar Group, you\u2019ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.\u00a0</p><p></p><p>We offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives.
